PREVENTING MALARIA AT OYIZA ORPHANAGE AND FOSTER
Health Promotion and disease prevention are paramount concerns for the management of Oyiza Orphanage and Foster Foundation in achieving a healthy state of living for her children.
The rate at which malaria affects the individuals and family, putting so much stress, pain and discomfort on the health continuum of children especially, as well as financial burden for the required treatment of malaria cannot be over emphasized. Children-based centers such as orphanage homes are not exemptions.
Our dream in fumigating the whole premise, which we had thought would help reduce mosquito bites and prevent malaria has been achieved by a good Samaritans. We thank you for this beautiful act of kindness may God bless you.
DENTAL HEALTH AT OYIZA ORPHANAGE AND FOSTER FOUNDATION
Oral hygiene is the practice of making sure that one’s mouth is clean and free of germs and other oral problems such as bad breath, tooth decay, cavities and gum diseases. Good oral/dental health translates to good health overall. Dental problems such as cavities or gum disease can impair the ability to eat and speak properly, cause pain and bad breath. In this case, oral hygiene is vital to an individual’s overall health and wellbeing.
One of the primary roles of Oyiza Orphanage and Foster Foundation is to maintain and improve the health and most especially dental health of the children in the facility. The Orphanage understands the importance of preventing plaque buildup that may cause tooth decay or gum infection for the children, that is why the dental health of the children cannot be undermined
In achieving this, Oyiza Orphanage and Foster Foundation partners with The Branch Foundation to provide Oral Hygiene to the 45 children in the facility. The Branch Foundation is an NGO that reaches out to the needy in the society. The foundation comprises dentists and other medical practitioners.
On July 17, 2021, the Branch Foundation provided eight professional dentists to help with some instruments and materials required for oral cleanings as well as scaling and polishing for all the children in the Orphanage. The entire kids benefited from the process.
